Los Angeles Arts District: The Ultimate Travel Guide!

We've loved the Los Angeles Arts District since our first road trip nearly three years ago, and it's only gotten bigger and better over time! Here is our updated travel guide to the Los Angeles Arts Guide full of the best restaurants, bars, and shops in the 'hood. The L.A. Arts District is nestled downtown, and this creative hub is totally walkable, which is a nice break from the L.A. norm. Take a Lyft to the Los Angeles Arts District and spend the day exploring:

Best Shopping in Los Angeles Arts District

Alchemy Works

Every time we visit, the store looks different! Definitely stop in to discover home goods and clothing from local L.A. designers and artists, and check out the Warby Parker in the back if you need some new specs!

Poketo

We are obsessed with Poketo! You can find their shops scattered around town (and in LA's The Line Hotel), but the flagship shop in Los Angeles Arts District is our fave. Whether you're looking for modern home utensils, funky clothing, or the coolest kids toys, you're sure to find something to love and bring home.

Apolis

Apolis' ethical clothing line is great for the gents, and this is also where you'll find the classic city straw bags. Pick one up with your favorite Los Angeles neighborhood on it for the ultimate chic souvenir.

The WheelHouse

If you're looking to get into cycling, or just want a cool new accessory for your bike, The WheelHouse is where you want to be. The best part? They have an in-store coffee shop too!

Wittmore

This highly curated men's shop is full of unique accessories and clothing, but we love it just as much as the guys do. Menswear is for everyone, right? Stop in to browse their collection or visit them online

Best Restaurants: Los Angeles Arts District

Blacktop Coffee

The coolest coffee shop in the Los Angeles Arts District is at Blacktop, where you can sip your cold brew under a gorgeous green trellis. They have an awesome breakfast menu too though! They're located right beside Alchemy Works, and keep your eyes peeled for some celebs.

Zinc Cafe & Bar Mateo

Zinc Cafe & Market is an all-vegetarian restaurant that's perfect for a healthy lunch! We love the large patio, and Bar Mateo in the back is home to amazing craft cocktails, which is great for happy hour or lingering late into the night.

The Springs

You'll find juice, wine, and yoga at The Springs in the Los Angeles Arts District. This is a great option for vegans, as their menu is all raw, vegan, seasonal, and organic!

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream

What was once an ice cream truck int he Los Angeles Arts District is now it's own ice cream shop! Stop by for yummy vegan ice cream (or regular) and try their to die for sundaes.

Fritzi

Fritzi is a new addition to the best restaurants in the Los Angeles Arts District, and we love both the decor and the healthy approach to Californian comfort food. And the cocktails, of course.

Wurstkuche

If you're looking for a chill lunch spot, look no further than the sausages and craft beer at Wurstkuche. We are kind of obsessed with this place, and if you're feeling adventurous you can try unique sausages like rattlesnake!

Other favorite restaurants in Los Angeles are Officine Brera for a fancy treat-yourself Italian night, the classic Cafe Gratitude for yummy plant-based meals, Daily Dose Cafe for coffee and snacks on a gorgeous patio, and the delicious wine and French food at Church & State

But by far the best restaurant in L.A.'s arts district is Bestia! Book your reservation in advance (like way in advance) and get ready for an insanely amazing meal in a laid-back, industrial atmosphere.

Best Bars: Los Angeles Arts Distritct

The first place that comes to mind when you want to drink in the Los Angeles Arts District is Angel City Brewery. It's perfect for large groups, and it's always a fun time on a weekend. New to the scene is Arts District Brewing Co, which has skeeball, beer, and a late-night menu from Fritzi.  If you want a damn good cocktail, head to Bar Mateo, or if you want to get a little more lively you can enjoy the party and arcade games until late at EightyTwo

Where to Work: Los Angeles Arts District

Last but not least, if you're looking for a co-working space, settle in at The Unique Space in Los Angeles Arts District! Not only does it have a rad location and beautiful design, it's also totally free to work at. So fun!
