5 Totally Fun Things to Do in Venice Beach

Venice Beach is one of the most popular places to visit in LA, and for good reason! Not only is Venice one of our favorite neighborhoods (city guide here), a day spent at Venice Beach is always a good time. Here are 5 of our favorite and fun things to do in Venice Beach:

5 Things to Do in Venice Beach

1. Bike the Venice Beach Boardwalk

Out of all the things to do in Venice Beach, this one is a classic! Rent a bike (or rollerblades!) and enjoy the miles of paved bike paths around Venice Beach. Venice is flat, so it makes getting around by bike super quick and easy. We stayed at this Airbnb in Venice, and loved biking to the beach and back.

2. Eat Healthy (It's Worth It)

Venice Beach is the epitome of healthy (what other beach has a whole gym on it?), but the best part is that the healthy places to eat in Venice Beach are soooo delicious! While you're on the Venice Beach boardwalk, you  have to try AmazeBowls, which are delicious acai bowls made inside a coconut shell. Next door is Poke Poke, which serves super yummy and healthy poke bowls. Grab a juice at Windward Juice in a Venice Beach alley, or savor a coffee at Menotti's

3. Wander Abbot Kinney

Abbot Kinney is the best street in LA, and it's full of insanely amazing restaurants, great shopping, and stellar cocktails. It's a bit of a walk from Venice Beach, but if it's a nice day why not stretch those legs? And it's always a nice day in Venice ;)

You can find all of our Abbot Kinney faves in our Venice City Guide

Our all-time favorite spot in Venice is The Butcher's Daughter! This plant-based restaurant and juice bar is not only bright and gorgeous, but it's also delicious! Stop by for a meal, a cocktail, or grab an espresso or juice to go at the cutest takeaway window.

4. Find the Unlikely Florist

We pretty much fell in love with Untho and his mobile flower shop, The Unlikely Florist. I mean, does it get any better than gorgeous bouquets hand-made in a parked VW van?! He pops up around the Venice Beach area, so keep an eye out for his van and treat yourself to some fresh flowers.

5. Take in Sunset at Venice Beach

This one goes without saying, but taking in sunset is really at the top of our things to do in Venice Beach list! The beach is pretty much perfect, between the picturesque lifeguard towers and white sand as far as the eye can see. If you'd rather enjoy sunset with a cocktail instead of a towel, we highly recommend heading to High, the rooftop bar at Hotel Erwin. Best view in Venice Beach, for sure!
