Rejuvenating at the Scandinave Spa in Whistler

After a weekend of hitting the slopes, your muscles are sure to be a little tired! The best way to rejuvenate them - or just have a relaxing afternoon - is by visiting the Scandinave Spa Whistler. From the moment you pull up, you know this place is going to treat you good: you have to walk through a short path in a spruce and cedar forest, and it really sets the mood for the peacefulness to come.

Scandinave Spa Whistler

After checking in and changing into your swimsuit and robe, it's time to enter the spa and unplug. Once you leave the building, it's a totally silent atmosphere, and no phones are allowed! You are forced to disconnect from social media and re-connect with nature.

The Scandinave spa experience, otherwise known as hydrotherapy, includes a mix of treatments like saunas, steam baths, hot baths, and cold plunges. The heat "quiets and soothes the body," while the cold "stimulates and invigorates," which stimulates blood circulation and releases endorphins. So you'll feel relaxed, healthy, and happy.

First, you warm your body for 10 to 15 minutes to increase blood flow. You can do this in the eucalyptus steam room, wood burning Finnish sauna, hot baths, or thermal waterfall.

Next, you cleanse your pores with a quick 30 second rinse in one of the cold baths, cold showers, or Nordic waterfalls.

After that, it's time to just sit back and relax your mind and body. Luckily for you, there's tons of options to choose from, whether you want to relax in a hammock, cozy up to an outdoor fireplace, or just lay back on any of the terraces. Then, you just repeat the cycle for as long as you want! The whole experience is magical, and it's definitely worth treating yourself to some silence in the woods at the spa.

Aren't you relaxed just reading this?

Note: there's no photography allowed once you're outside in the spa, as your phones have to stay inside!
