3 Hip Places to Enjoy Happy Hour in San Diego

Nothing says summer like enjoying a nice, cold cocktail in the warm, Californian sun...and happy hour is the best time to do it! These aren't all of the best happy hours in San Diego, but here are some of our favorite places to enjoy a cocktail, craft beer, and rose (alllllll day, even?).

Ironside Fish & Oyster

If you have to visit one restaurant in San Diego, make it Ironside in Little Italy! Not only is this place gorgeous (and filled with perfect light for your food photos), but they have an amazing selection of seafood. So fresh, in fact, that their menu is printed about five times per DAY! Doesn't get more fresh than that.

They have an awesome happy hour deal, with buck-a-shuck oysters from 3-6pm. And these aren't cheap oysters like some buck-a-shuck places, these are the real deal. We actually visited for lunch, and the food was so amazing! If you're in a group, order one of their seafood platters - we were ogling our neighbours! Pair it with some oysters and you're all set.

Ballast Point Brewery

San Diego may be the craft beer capital (did you know there are over 100 breweries here?), but Ballast Point is the beloved hometown hero with a massive and creative beer list. We love hanging out on their patio in Little Italy, there's so much sunshine and it's perfect to get a little tan while you drink, or you can chill out with friends in their shaded cabanas. Plus, their "tasters" are more like mini-beers, and only $4, so it's like happy hour all night long.

Fairweather

If you get lost trying to find Fairweather, you're not alone. This secret rooftop bar above Rare Form overlooks Petco Stadium, where the San Diego Padres baseball team plays, and they have a fun, tropical atmosphere with delicious pina coladas and mai tais. You'll feel like you're in Hawaii!

Happy hour specials on mai tai's and pina coladas, because who doesn't love an umbrella in their drink? If there's a Padres game, you will totally want to be in this fun and funky atmosphere, just make sure you get there early!
