Top 5 Wineries to Visit in Prince Edward County

Hello from Ontario's wine region, Prince Edward County! We took a gorgeous fall road trip from Toronto to "The County" to explore the best of Prince Edward County's wineries. Here's a round up of our favorites, and stay tuned for our locals guide to eating, drinking, and exploring Prince Edward County!

Norman Hardie Winery

Norman Hardie is definitely one of the best Prince Edward Country wineries, we loved the outdoor farm vibes and the relaxed and sunny atmosphere. Not to mention...the wine and pizza! Grab a seat on the patio and you're all set.

There's nothing quite like enjoying a yummy glass of local wine outside on a patio beside a wood-burning pizza oven. We had the most amazing farm fresh tomato and burrata salad, and enjoyed tasting the differences between Norman's Prince Edward County and Niagara wines.

Hinterland Winery / County Road Brewing

Hinterland Winery is known for it's sparkling wines, but the addition of the new County Road Beer Garden makes this a hot spot among the Prince Edward County wineries. The rustic outdoor patio pairs nicely with a sparkling wine bellini or a tasting flight of their craft beers.

But the food...the food is SO good! We are obsessed with their seasonal menu, and the corn soup was probably the best dish we had on our whole trip to Prince Edward County! Definitely come with an empty tummy, and get ready to enjoy some delicious food with your beers and bubbly.

The Grange of Prince Edward County Winery

The Grange has some of the best wines in Prince Edward County, and we loved their woodsy, intimate tasting room. It kind of feels like you stepped into an enchanted forest, and we loved roaming the gorgeous long drive way.

All of the wines at Grange Winery are grown on the estate in Prince Edward County, and the tasting room is so cozy that you will definitely want to stay a while. We also really loved their wine!

Waupoos Winery

Waupoos Winery is one of the classic Prince Edward County wineries, and it's refreshing to be able to sit back and relax in their gazebo, or head down to the water with your glass!

When you first arrive, there's a traditional tasting room, but we recommend ordering from the restaurant in the gazebo and heading down to the pier. It's so relaxing, and the view of Lake Ontario is just stunning! After your wine, head across the street to their adorable petting zoo.

County Cider Company

If wine isn't your thing, you can still partake in some tastings in Prince Edward County! County Cider Company is located down the street from Waupoos Winery, and their gorgeous tasting room gives you a gorgeous view of the lake from up the hill.

Those are just some of the best Prince Edward County wineries - what are your faves? We absolutely loved our weekend here, and can't wait to show you the rest of what "The County" has to offer! Hint: there's a lot.
